As the founding member of Paulsen, Malec & Associates, Ltd., Harvey A. Paulsen focuses his practice on civil litigation, with a focus on defending individuals and businesses in personal injury and property damage claims arising from construction accidents, product liability, motor vehicle liability, general negligence, trucking and transportation, and insurance coverage matters.
Mr. Paulsen has substantial trial experience practicing in various Illinois Circuit Courts including Cook County, DuPage County, Lake County, Will County, Kane County, McHenry County, Winnebago County (Rockford), McLean County (Bloomington), Peoria County, Sangamon County, Madison County, St. Clair County and Vermilion County (Danville). His experience also includes defending clients in the U.S. District Court in Chicago and in arbitrated matters. Mr. Paulsen has represented individual and corporate defendants and their insurers in over 40 trials. In those cases, amounts requested by plaintiffs have exceeded $125,000.000 while amounts awarded are less than $3,000.000. Mr. Paulsen has also represented clients in the Illinois Appellate Court and the Illinois Supreme Court.
Mr. Paulsen serves as an arbitrator in private arbitration cases. He has also given numerous presentations in conjunction with training and continuing education programs.
